Danbury Police Believe Thief Has Valley Ties

Photo: Danbury PolicePolice believe a man with local connections has been breaking into cars and stealing items in Danbury.

Danbury Police Officer Matthew Casazza contacted the Valley Indy Saturday hoping residents recognize the man in the photos posted here and then call Danbury police at 203 797 4611 ext. 604.

The man is suspected of breaking into cars in the Danbury Wal-Mart on Newtown Road in May.

His bounty from one car included a Sony digital camera, a radar detector — and a woman’s purse.

Suspect Entering Danbury Stop&Shop

He then went to a Danbury Stop & Shop, where — using a credit card from the purse — purchased a McDonald’s gift card. The two photos above show him walking into the Danbury Stop & Shop. The first photo below shows his vehicle in the Danbury Stop & Shop parking lot.

Here’s where the Valley can help …

The gift card had been dormant for some time, but has been used in its entirety at McDonald’s restaurants in Derby within the last week.

Casazza said it was used once at the New Haven Road (Route 34) McDonald’s and once at the McDonald’s on Division Street.

Suspect's Car

This suggests that the suspect has some connection with that area,” Casazza said.

The suspect has a giant tattoo on his right forearm, visible in some of the surveillance photos.

If you recognize the person, call Casazza and the Danbury Police Department at 203 797 4611 ext. 604.
