Deadline For Joining Citizens Academy Is Here

Note — The following e‑mail was sent from Seymour Schools Superintendent Christine Syriac to Seymour school parents Tuesday, Feb. 19:

Dear Parents and Staff,

I wanted to remind everyone that the second round of the Citizens Academy is scheduled to start in March. I am so very excited about this program; our first session received great reviews from the participants.

What is the Citizens Academy? Every day someone in the community asks a question about the Seymour Public Schools. The school district is complex and having the correct answers at your fingertips is not always easy. So I have created a Citizens Academy to help you understand our school district and its complexities. The Citizens Academy promises to be experiential, informative, and fun. At the conclusion, you will have a better understanding of the knowledge students are required to master in today’s world and the challenges schools must overcome to help students achieve.

Further information about the Citizens Academy and the form to register is located on the web site. If you are interested in participating we need to receive your application by Friday, February 22. Also please feel free to contact Lee-Ann Dauerty, my Administrative Assistant if you have any questions (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)).

Thank you,

Christine
