Shelton cheerleaders took first place in Class LL.
The Derby squad received their rings during a ceremony Friday at the high school.
Thanks to Derby school board member Jim Gildea for Tweeting the info to us.
Derby High cheerleaders previously won a regional championship in 2010.
Last month the Derby Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to allocate up to $3,630 for the rings.

Syombathy was recently named Derby High School teacher of the year.
