DERBY — The Derby Cultural Commission (DCC) in partnership with the City of Derby, is excited to announce that the Annual Derby Day, will be held on Saturday, June 25th, on the Derby Green and area, from 11 AM — 5 PM.
The goal of Derby Day is to bring our Community together to celebrate a variety of local artists, and all forms of art and culture. Festival programming will be inclusive of all demographics, showcasing cultural music, exhibits from civic groups and business, poetry/art from local residents, and hands-on artifacts from historical groups,along with the very-much appreciated craft and food truck vendors.
Art Prize Awards, TBA. A new feature is the, “International Cultural Fashion Show” where Derby residents/families can don their native apparel on the runway with music.
Families may wish to speak on their culture and showcase an artifact or heirloom.
Children’s activities will be offered on the safety of the Derby Green. As an important member of our Community, we hope that you will consider becoming a part of Derby Day.
If you are interested and for our initial planning phase, please send the following information to suelschroeder@gmail.com by Wednesday, April 20th, 2022. Your full name, The Name of Your Organization, Individual or Business Contact information, phone number, email address and proposed involvement (Stage Show, Exhibit, Booth, or Activity) with a short description detailing any important specifics.
You will be then be emailed the Derby Day ‘application package.’ to submit to us. A Program will follow by June 1st. Note: We are also seeking volunteers to join us and help organize the final, pre-day preparations of this community-wide event.
