Derby Gov’t Issues ‘Explanatory Text’ For Nov. 3 Charter Revision Questions

DERBY — City government is asking the public to vote yes’ or no’ on a series of proposed changes to the Derby City Charter.

The questions were put on the ballot at the suggestion of a bipartisan Derby Charter Revision Commission and the Derby Board of Aldermen & Alderwomen.

The Charter is the blueprint of Derby government.

On Sept. 30, the Derby Town/City Clerk provided a link to the explanatory text” authored by Derby government.

The text attempts to explain the changes that are being proposed.

The proposed changes will be on the ballot in Derby on Election Day (Nov. 3, 2020).
