SHELTON — Police charged a 22-year-old Derby resident Monday in connection to a fatal overdose.
Dion Sanders is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, sale of narcotics, and possession of narcotics.
Shelton police said the arrest stems from the fatal overdose of a 25-year-old woman in Shelton on Aug. 7. Police allege that Dion sold the drugs to the woman. They didn’t specify the narcotic (Update: heroin and fentanyl, police said). The woman’s name was not released.
Derby and Shelton police raided Sanders’ residence in Derby on an unspecified date. Police said additional arrests are expected.
Sanders was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday (Feb. 12) in Superior Court in Derby.
First-degree reckless endangerment alleges that a person showed “extreme indifference to human life,” and engaged “in conduct which creates a risk of serious physical injury to another person,” according to state law.
