Shelton police on Tuesday arrested a 42-year-old Derby man they believe broke into a gas station and stole cigarettes last month.
The man, Joseph Palmer, faces charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, and second-degree criminal mischief. He was held in lieu of $25,000 bond Tuesday, according to a press release from Lt. Robert Kozlowsky.
“The arrest is a result of an investigation by the detective bureau,” the press release said. “Another arrest may be forthcoming in this case.”
The burglary was reported to police in the early morning hours of Oct. 15. Surveillance video showed two men breaking into the store and stealing cartons of cigarettes. Click here to read more.
