The 20-year-old Derby man accused of supplying heroin that killed a man in Derby and triggered two nonfatal overdoses in Shelton is scheduled to appear in court for the first time Thursday (Feb. 25).
Bradley Commerford is scheduled to appear at 2 p.m. in federal court in New Haven.

Commerford is to be charged federally, under a drug-dealing statute that could see him face a minimum 20 years in prison if convicted.
Commerford is accused of providing heroin that led to the death of a 23-year-old Derby man Feb. 17. The victim lived on Hawthorne Avenue.
Police said Commerford is also responsible for supplying heroin that triggered two nonfatal overdoses in Shelton Feb. 16.
A second Derby man died from a suspected overdose Feb. 17. That case remains under investigation.
On social media, people identifying themselves as Commerford’s family said police and the media are misreporting the facts.
Commerford is being held at a jail in Bridgeport.
