Derby Mayor’s Re-election Sign Damaged, Police Notified

CONTRIBUTED PHOTODerby Democrats contacted police after a large sign supporting incumbent Mayor Anita Dugatto was damaged Tuesday night.

The sign was near the corner of Academy Hill and Ridge roads near Witek Park.

Linda Fusco, chairwoman of the Derby Democratic Town Committee, said she made a report with police.

The vandalism happened a few days after an absurd robocall targeted elderly Derby residents.

Not saying this is related to the robocall but at this point, nothing can be discounted,” Fusco said in an email Thursday morning. I want to make it perfectly clear that we will not be bullied, not the Mayor, not the Democratic Party. If someone has a issue with us, we’re willing to talk about it. That said, we’re not going to tolerate this kind of behavior.”
