The police department will be receiving $30,000 in federal stimulus money to purchase a mobile command trailer, Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced Monday.
The money comes from the fourth round of funding of the Justice Assistance Grants the state received through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Last week Rell announced the arrival of $138 million in federal stimulus money that will be used for area special education programs.
Local recipients of that money include school districts in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton.
Also, State Rep. Theresa Conroy recently announced state funding for projects in Beacon Falls and Seymour.
Beacon Falls will receive $200,000 for road improvements throughout the town. Seymour is getting $150,000 to help with the continuation of the sidewalk replacement program and an additional $50,000 to construct new tennis courts at French Park, according to a statement from Conroy.
