Derby Pizzeria Owner Injured In Robbery

A Main Street pizzeria owner was beaten during a robbery Aug. 4. 

According to information from Lt. Sal Frosceno, police responded to an assault at 12:28 a.m. at Michelino’s Pizza at 143 Main St.

There they found the owner unconscious after being struck in the head with a blunt object.

The suspect — or suspects — left the pizzeria with an undetermined amount of cash.

The victim was treated at and then released from Yale-New Haven Hospital.

There was no description of the suspect(s).
