It’s spread to Derby.
Last week Ansonia Police Chief Kevin Hale told the Valley Indy about a rash of car burglaries his city was experiencing.
Today Derby police issued a release saying residents there are falling victim to the same crime.
“Residents should be aware that there have been numerous car break-ins throughout Derby,” police said. “While one arrest has been made, we are still investigating these incidents.”
Derby police are urging residents not to leave valuables in their vehicles — and to make sure doors are locked.
Anyone with information on the Derby break-ins should call the department’s detective division at 203 – 735-7811.
Last summer there was a similar rash of break-ins in Ansonia, Derby, Seymour and Shelton.
