Derby Residents Participate In American Legion Programs

The following information was sent by the American Legion.

The American Legion Boy’s State program is being held at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic Connecticut during June 2019.

This program provides an opportunity for students to learn about the democratic process by forming their own party, establishing a party platform and electing city, town and state officials. This is a great experience for students interested in government.

The American Legion Girl’s State program is being held at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut during June 2019.

Students attending the weeklong program from Derby High School are pictured left to right Natalia Wyszkowski, Arthur Newberg, Kaitlyn Gerckens, Post 24 Commander, Erwin (Gus) Williams and Legion member David Randall. Missing from picture is, Javan Guevara-Cragwell.
