
DERBY — The Storm Ambulance Corps’ ‘Ambulance Driver 5K’ is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10 and race organizers sent word several roads in west Derby will be closed during the race.

The looped course starts and ends at BADSONS Brewery, 251 Roosevelt Drive (though the Park Avenue side of the property will be used).
The streets to be closed are:
Park Avenue at A Street, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
B Street from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
D Street from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
E Street from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
F. Street from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Gagliardi Street from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Grove Street from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m
.Cedric Avenue (one way Hawthorne Avenue to Roosevelt Drive), 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Cedric Place from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Stygar Terrace from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Hawthorne Avenue from Lakeview Terrace to Coon Hollow Road from 6:45 to 8 p.m.
Chatfield from Hawthorne Avenue to Coon Hollow Road from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Nutmeg Avenue from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The organizers planned the race as a way to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Storm Ambulance Corps.
People in the neighborhood are encouraged to cheer the runners, make signs to show support, play music, even bang a gong or two.
