The Derby Middle School Running Club participated last Sunday in the Bridgeport Hospital Home Run race through Bridgeport’s Seaside Park and the Ballpark at Harboryard.
In his first race, Benjamin Garcia won his age group with a time of 21:06.
Gabriella Prizio, Rachel Markoya, and Amber Schlemmer swept the female 10 to 13 year-old age group with times of 24:56, 25:46, and 26:46 respectively.
Other student runners included Joey Ostuno, Marah Awad, Angela Fortuna, Matthew Markoya, Charlie Sampson, Sejada Jusic, and Allie Narowski in her first race as well.
