The Derby Board of Education has named Pamela Festa Mangini of Hamden as the school district’s new Business Manager.
Ms. Mangini is currently the Director of Finance for the Town of Orange, a position that she has held since 2006. The Board approved Ms. Mangini’s appointment during a special meeting at Derby High School last night.
“Derby is fortunate to have attracted a woman of Pam’s skill and background to direct the business affairs of our schools,” stated Derby Superintendent of Schools Stephen Tracy. “Her combination of experience in municipal finance and service in the public schools will be of great value to our effort to get maximum value for students from our district resources,” he said.
Prior to her work in Orange, Mangini was Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools in Cheshire. She has also worked in an administrative capacity for the Police Department and the Mayor’s Office in Hamden.
From 1995 to 2001, she served on the Wallingford Board of Education. She received her Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Quinnipiac University.
“I am very excited to join the Derby Board of Education as its Business Manager. I was most impressed with the Board members and staff that I met throughout the interview process and look forward to working with them.”
Mangini will succeed Nancy O’Dea-Wyrick as Business Manager for the Derby Public Schools. O’Dea-Wyrick is now the Business Manager for the Monroe, Connecticut schools.
Mangini is expected to commence her work in Derby in mid-December.
