Derby police are searching for a man who injured a clerk during a knife-point robbery at Tim’s Foodmart Wednesday morning.
The crime happened at 7:51 a.m., said Derby Police Lt. Justin Stanko.
A white male entered the small store at the intersection of Maple and Seymour avenues with a knife and attempted to get cash from the register.
“A struggle ensued and the clerk sustained superficial lacerations to her hand,” Stanko said.
The suspect fled on foot, police said.
The clerk was taken to nearby Griffin Hospital. She was in stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
Police interviewed several neighbors and recovered clothing in the area they believe belonged to the suspect, who took them off while running away.
Police hope anyone who recognizes the clothing will call the Derby Police Department at 203 – 735-7811. All calls will remain anonymous.
