Derby Students Honored

Four students were recently honored as part of the CAPSS Superintendent’s Student Award Recognition Program.

The students are:

  • Derby High School seniors Anna Chevarella and Khalil Ibrahim
  • Derby Middle School students Kaylee Olenoski and Ohm Patel

CAPSS stands for the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents.

The program awards students based on community service and service to others, academic prowess, and leadership service to the school community.

Derby School Superintendent Matthew Conway presented the awards at the CAPSS Student Award Banquet, which was held on Dec. 1 at Grassy Hill Country Club.

Derby Board of Education members Dan Foley, George Kurtyka and Christine Robinson were also present to honor the students.
