A Derby teacher’s daughter died in a car wreck on Route 9 in Berlin early Saturday.
Isabella Gozzo, 19, of Cheshire, was thrown from a car being driven by Anthony Longo, 22, of Berlin, after Longo lost control of the vehicle and crashed near exit 21 at about 2:15 a.m., according to state police.
The vehicle rolled over several times.
Gozzo’s father is Derby Middle School social studies teacher and running coach Mike Gozzo.
Isabella was a 2014 graduate of Cheshire High School, according to the Record-Journal.

The school’s principal sent out a message to the Cheshire community on Saturday, according to the paper’s website.
“She was a beautiful, talented, and engaging young woman and her passing is a tragic shock to our community,” part of the message read.

Isabella was a first-year student at Suffolk University in Massachusetts, according to the Cheshire Herald.
A memorial for her was scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Cheshire High School.
