Derby Town/City Clerk Thanks Voters For Re-Election

I write to thank the voters of Derby for your overwhelming support on Election Day allowing me to continue as your Town/City Clerk. I love my job and work hard at it every day, and I appreciate the honor of continuing the progress made in this office to make our government more open and accessible to the people of Derby.

After observing the final election results and the activity leading to inauguration day, I pledge a slightly modified approach to the day-to-day functions of the Office of the Town/City Clerk.

For the benefit of taxpayers and in the interest of greater transparency, I will be vigilant in the use of the adage, If you see something, say something.” The people of Derby deserve to know the truth about how their government operates and how it impacts their daily lives.

I wanted to write this letter today, December 7, 2021, on the 80th anniversary of the cowardly attack on Pearl Harbor and honor the sacrifices of all those who served in World War II. It is also a day to remember that the action of cowards is an attack on democracy itself. December 7, 2013 is also the anniversary of my start of service as your Town/Clerk. We have made much progress, and I will continue working with all government officials to make Derby’s government more accessible and transparent. I will continue to walk the walk and encourage the same from my fellow citizens.

If you are interested in serving the City of Derby or your political party or need any service from this office, please don’t hesitate to contact me at https://www.derbyct.gov/city-town-clerk .

I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and a joyous and prosperous 2022. Please remember to help those who need help during the holiday season and throughout the year!

Sincerely,
