Derby Woman Charged With Burglary

Shelton PDShelton police charged a 23-year-old Derby woman Friday in connection to a string a daytime burglaries in the area.

Amber Belade, of Hawthorne Avenue, is charged with three counts of third-degree larceny, four counts of third-degree burglary and one count of fifth-degree larceny.

Shelton detectives said they developed Belade and an unidentified male suspect in the burglaries and obtained four search warrants for addresses in Derby and Shelton.

Police located hundreds of pieces of stolen jewelry during the searches,” according to a prepared statement from police.

Belade was held on a $200,000.00 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court today (June 27).

Shelton police are currently working with Derby, Stratford and Bridgeport police in this ongoing investigation,” police said.

Police are still attempting to identify the owners of some of the recovered jewelry. Police have an arrest warrant for the male as well.
