ANSONIA — A dispute between neighbors led to the arrest of two men Wednesday night.

Police said they responded to a report of a fight on Grove Street on Jan. 11 at about 10:30 p.m.

A man told officers he had been assaulted by his neighbor, and that his neighbor’s friend pulled a gun on him.

Police charged 51-year-old George Lanker of Ansonia with criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, altering a firearm, first-degree threatening, and breach of peace.

Police described Lanker as a previously convicted felon who admitted to having a gun, which he gave to officers. Police said the weapon was missing serial numbers.

Lanker was scheduled to be arraigned today (Thursday, Jan. 12).

Meanwhile, the victim’s neighbor was identified as David Ehler, Jr. He was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He’s due in court Jan. 26 after posting a $500 bond.
