Dog Bites Man, Police Ticket Owner

An Ansonia woman was issued a ticket after her dog bit a man on Wakelee Avenue Wednesday evening.

The dog, identified by police as a pit bull, bit the 44-year-old man on the right calf. He was treated for puncture wounds to his leg, according to police.

The dog had gotten loose from its owner on Wakelee Avenue near Klanko’s at about 6 p.m.

The owner was ticketed for allowing a dog to roam, harboring a nuisance dog and failure to license a dog.

The dog has to be quarantined for 14 days following the incident.
