Shelton firefighters extinguished a laundry room fire at a condo complex off Bridgeport Avenue Sunday morning before the blaze could spread further.
According to the Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Facebook page, firefighters from three of Shelton’s volunteer fire companies were dispatched to 23 Country Place at 10:41 a.m. Sunday on a report of a dryer fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found moderate smoke showing from the second floor of a condo unit.
They stretched a hose line to the condo and found a dryer on fire with extension to the laundry room area, Echo Hose reported.
“The fire was quickly extinguished and companies opened up and checked for extension and ventilated the structure,” Echo Hose reported. “The incident was placed under control in under 20 minutes and the last unit cleared in under 90 minutes.”
