DUI Checkpoint Planned In Seymour

The Seymour Police Department will be conducting a DWI sobriety check point along the Route 67 corridor within the Town of Seymour beginning Friday Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. through Saturday Aug. 6 until 3:00 a.m.

Officers will primarily be checking for operators of motor vehicles who may be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

The sobriety check point is partially funded through a grant received from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Comprehensive DUI Enforcement Program.

In addition to the sobriety check point, the grant also provides assistance in funding additional officers to patrol town highways throughout the year in search of operators of motor vehicles who may be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
