The Dunkin’ Donuts on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton was robbed this past December for money to buy heroin and cocaine, according to Shelton police.
This week police arrested three of the people they believe were involved.
A fourth suspect is believed to be in a drug rehabilitation program and will be arrested upon her release, according to a statement released by Shelton Police Det. Ben Trabka Wednesday afternoon.
Danielle McDaniel, 24, of 41 Spring St. in Derby, was charged Wednesday with first degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first degree robbery.
Police said on Dec. 13 McDaniel wore a mask and waved a 10-inch butcher knife when she allegedly went into the Dunkin’ Donuts. Two employees ran out a back door of the store, and the robber jumped over the counter and took money from the cash registers, police said at the time.
About $400 was estimated stolen.
Police also arrested Mallory Rogers, 20, of 103 Utica St., Milford, and Jonathan Rodriguez, 24, of 327 Fan Hill Road, Monroe. The two were charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery.
Police said Rogers and Rodriguez allegedly gave McDaniel a ride to the Dunkin’ Donuts. The fourth suspect allegedly helped plan the robbery, according to police.
McDaniel is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Derby Thursday.
Rogers and Rodriguez were arraigned Wednesday, police said, and each remained held on a $50,000 bond.
It is unusual for females to be directly involved in an armed robbery, Trabka wrote in the press release.
