A man was assaulted outside his home on Prospect Street about 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to Derby police.
The man then chased his attackers on the highway to Westport, where the vehicles crashed outside a Bagel Maven on Post Road East, according to News 12 Connecticut.
One suspect was taken into custody, but two others fled, the news station reported.
Derby Police Lt. Justin Stanko said it was not a random “home invasion,” as previously reported.
The suspects knew the victim, and had some type of ongoing grudge against the man. The suspects did not force their way into his house. The altercation was outside, Stanko said.
No further info was available.
Police are investigating, and will release more information when they have it.
