On Oct. 3rd, from noon to 4 p.m. on the Derby Green, Housatonic Council Cub Scout Pack 3, Boy Scout Troop 3 and Venture Crew 33 hosts “Ed Strang Community Day,” a free, public event.
Hands on activities include a rope bridge walk, obstacle course, old time and modern campsites, craft making, games, pioneering, music and dutch oven cooking. Video presentations of the scouts in action at summer camp and a recent 11 day Grand Canyon trip will also be shown.
The three scout groups will offer free Scouting registration during the event for youths interested in joining America’s premier youth program.
A parent or guardian must be present to complete the Scouting application.
