An elderly Seymour woman escaped injury and her car suffered only minor damage Friday afternoon when she drove off Derby Neck Road and into the woods.
The woman managed to avoid a stone wall, a boulder and a number of trees. The accident happened at about 3:30 p.m.
Firefighters used chainsaws to clear trees and brush away from the woman’s car so she could get out.
The car was about 30 feet into the woods.
The woman declined medical treatment.
