PLANNING AND RESPONSE

All customer shut offs were completed by 5:30 p.m. Technicians are relighting service to customers in Zones 1 – 3 and are currently repressurizing the gas main in Zone 4.

Relights in Zone 4 are scheduled to begin at approximately 6:30 this evening.

Eversource currently has approximately 175 gas technicians onsite and hundreds of other employees supporting this restoration.

All Eversource gas technicians have been pre-screened for the COVID-19 virus and wear appropriate protective equipment, which includes a face mask and gloves.

CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION

Calls to all customers in all Zones have been completed as of 6:30 p.m. to update them on the restoration progress and when to expect to see technicians in their zone.

Customers in Zones 1,2,3 and 4 have received calls alerting them that we will be in their neighborhood to re-light equipment:
Hello, this is an important update from Eversource regarding your natural gas service. We are now ready to restore natural gas service to your premises. Eversource technicians will be going door-to-door to re-light natural gas appliances and conduct a visual safety check. To help keep you, your household or business, and our technicians safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will ask if anyone inside the property is confirmed, or suspected of being infected, with the virus before entering your premises.

Our technicians will be wearing the proper protection equipment, including a face mask and gloves. All Eversource employees have company-issued identification you can ask to see. Because we need to enter your home, we require someone 18 years of age or older be present to let us inside. If you have questions about this process, please call us at 1 – 800-989‑0900. Thank you and stay safe.”
