Former Ansonia Alderman Keith Maynard plead not guilty Thursday to charges that he attacked a woman inside the house they shared together.
His next court date is Nov. 19.
Maynard was arrested August 20 for the July 1 attack of his then-fiancee, Ida Marie.
In the incident, a masked man hid inside the couple’s Cook Street home and beat Ida Marie when she came inside.
Ida Marie was able to escape and call for help, and the attacker ran away.
Along with the plea Thursday, the state’s attorney’s office gave Maynard’s attorney, John Kelly, the case file to review.
Maynard is charged with second-degree assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and first-degree reckless endangerment.
