The former Derby Middle School dean of students accused of bringing pain pills into school is due back in Superior Court in Derby Jan. 3.
William LaRovera, a Naugatuck resident, appeared briefly in court Wednesday.
His attorney, Rob Serafinowicz, said in court he was scheduled to discuss the case with prosecutor Marjorie Sozanski. However, the prosecutor is on vacation.
Judge Burton Kaplan agreed to continue the case to Jan. 3.
He faces four felony charges of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school and failure to keep narcotics in the original container.
LaRovera resigned from Derby Public Schools as of Nov. 18. His annual salary was $80,759.
