Shelton Police Officer John Napoleone was honored by the Shelton Exchange Club recently as the “Officer of the Year” for his diligence, compassion, fairness and commitment to the pursuit of justice.
He was honored at a ceremony May 6 at the Aqua Turf in Plainville.
Napoleone welcomes his call to service and can be relied upon to consistently devote his efforts in every investigation.
Hired in May of 2003, Officer Napoleone has committed himself to enhancing the quality of life of the Shelton community through his relentless crime prevention efforts.
He is assigned to the shift patrol division and has also been entrusted with the additional assignments of Field Training officer, Crisis Negotiator and Color Guard member.
In addition to the award received at the reception, Officer John Napoleone has also been noticed outside of his community, having received special recognition awards from MADD and The Umbrella Group.
Each year, the Shelton Exchange Club chooses an outstanding officer who exemplifies actions that go way above and beyond the call of duty.
Salute to Connecticut’s Finest program is designed to honor men and women who serve as law enforcement officer.
The award serves as a magnifying glass which enables the public to see a clearer view of what law enforcement is all about.
The Shelton Exchange Club meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Brownson Country Club from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
Meeting begins at 7:00 pm. New members are always welcome.
