‘Fab 4 Music Festival’ Scheduled For Saturday, July 10 In Ansonia

ANSONIA — The Beatles-themed Fab 4 Music Festival’ is scheduled for Saturday, July 10 at Nolan Field, 350 Wakelee Ave.

The festival starts at 12 p.m. and concludes at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $19.99 in advance and $25 at the door.

Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets. There are also a number of seated V.I.P. tickets available. Parking is free.

The family-friendly festival will also feature Beatles memorabilia and music dealers, special guests and authors, area vendors and artisans, along with food trucks.

Brute Force, performing at 6:30 p.m., is Stephen Friedland, a man who earned a place in Beatles history. He wrote and performed the sorta profane/surprisingly funny tune King of Fuh” in 1967. John Lennon and George Harrison took a liking to it, and it was released on Apple Records, the record label created by the Beatles.

The fuh king’ song (get it?) was re-released in 2010 by Apple Records on Come and Get It: The Best of Apple Records.”

Friedland went on to have a prolific career, writing songs performed by Peggy March, Del Shannon, The Chiffons, The Cyrkle, and others.

The festival is being put on by the City of Ansonia and Liverpool Productions, a company headed by Connecticut’s Charles Rosenay that has been producing Beatles conventions since 1978.
