FBI Confiscates Computer; Gun Purchased In Shelton

FBI agents confiscated a computer that once belonged to terror suspect Faisal Shahzad.

Shahzad gave the computer to neighbor Brenda Thurman before he and his family moved out of their Long Hill Avenue house, according to Thurman’s daughter.

FBI agents were at the Shelton house searching until about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The Shahzads held a tag sale before they left Shelton, neighbors said.

The government alleges Shahzad, who lost his newly-constructed home to foreclosure, left the country to receive bomb-making training at a terrorist camp in Pakistan. He returned, rented an apartment in Bridgeport, then allegedly rigged a Nissan Pathfinder to explode in Times Square last Saturday.

The FBI also met with Thurman individually Tuesday at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Howe Avenue, where agents asked her a series of questions about Shahzad.

Thurman, who knew the Shahzad family better than her fellow neighbors on Long Hill Avenue, has described Shahzad as peculiar, but friendly.

She said the FBI will give the computer back in about two days.

In addition, the Associated Press reported Wednesday that Shahzad purchased a weapon from Valley Firearms on Howe Avenue in Shelton.
