There were no injuries.

Firefighters were notified of a fire at 82 Soundview Ave. at about 3 p.m.

The guest house was the house that caught fire. No one was living in it. The property owner told the fire marshal the one-story building was being renovated.

Her name was not available.

Most of the fire was concentrated in the garage area. However, it spread through a crawl space, causing heavy damage to the roof. It also spread into a chimney next to the garage.

The blaze caused a chunk of the roof to collapse.

It took about 15 minutes to get the fire under control and another 15 minutes to extinguish.

A caller had first reported three buildings on fire. However, damage was limited to the unoccupied house with the attached garage.

Ullrich said four fire companies from Shelton responded to the scene. Mutual aid was sent from Derby and Monroe for back-up.
