Fire Departments Need Help Digging

Received a note from the Derby fire department this morning, which we are passing along.

Firefighters all over the Valley are asking for help to dig out fire hydrants.

It’s taking firefighters anywhere from five to 10 minutes to even find the hydrants buried in the snow mounds.

It’s apparently a Valley-wide issue.

So if you know there’s a fire hydrant near you, firefighters are asking you to lend a hand and dig it out.

Generally, firefighters need three feet cleared on all sides of a hydrant.

If you dig em out, feel free to post the before and after pics on our Facebook page!
