Tuesday, June 5 was another great First Grade Night at the Derby Public Library.
The event was hosted by Jenny Ames, Irving School Reading Specialist, and Sue Sherman, children’s librarian.
Students from Irving and Bradley schools listened to the story Rotten Ralph by Jack Gantos about a naughty cat’s escapades and created their own feline from construction paper.
Before and after the program students checked out books.
The goal of First Grade Night is to get Derby students excited about reading and comfortable utilizing the library.
