UPDATE: Flood Watch Until Tuesday Morning, Smattering Of Power Outages In Derby

Just a FYI FWIW ICYMI: there’s a flood watch in effect until 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to The National Weather Service.

Another 2 to 4 inches of rain is possible over the region (tri-state area) today.

At 7:30 a.m., Eversource listed 29 customers without power in Seymour (update: First Selectwoman Annmarie Drugonis texted me at 8:43 a.m. saying there were no outages in Seymour) As time passed in the morning, wires reported down on Jacko Drive in Seymour, with a power outage in the area of Jacko and Hollbrook.

The UI outage list shows two events’ in Derby, where 64 customers are without power (sometimes there is a delay with that list, so I can’t be certain this is of the moment accurate).

Derby’s dispatch sent a text saying Derby Neck Road is closed between Buckingham and Silver Hill due to a tree blocking the road. I literally just saw a UI truck on Hawthorne Avenue in Derby heading in that direction.

Events,’ by the way, are defined as situations messing up the delivery of electricity, such as a downed wire, pole, transformer issue, etc.

Here’s a list of outages, at least what’s currently being displayed on the UI and Eversource outage maps.

Ansonia: 0
Beacon Falls: 0
Derby: 64 customers
Naugauck: 0
Oxford: 5
Seymour: 29 (ZERO as of 8:43 a.m. according to First Selectwoman)
Shelton: 0

Again, keep in mind there can be a lag in time with these numbers from the utilities, meaning some of the customers are restored, or some more have been added to the lists.
