Former Derby High School Principal Greg Gaillard’s arraignment on a larceny charge has been pushed to next month.
Gaillard was charged by Derby police with second-degree larceny Feb. 17.
He posted $5,000 in the case after his arrest and was due in court Feb. 26, but that date was changed to March 16 after his lawyer asked for a continuance.
On the eve of Gaillard’s scheduled appearance Monday, the case was again continued, to April 6.
Gaillard allegedly misappropriated $13,200 from a bank account used by the Derby Administrators Union, of which Gaillard was the president.
Gaillard, a Naugatuck resident, abruptly resigned as Derby High School principal Dec. 9.
That same day, according to an arrest warrant, Derby Schools Superintendent Matthew Conway found union bank statements on Gaillard’s desk.
Conway asked questions about the account, which prompted the union officials to review bank statements, at which time they realized money was allegedly missing.
Gaillard, according to the arrest warrant, was the only person who had access to the union’s bank account.
Second-degree larceny is a felony.
