Former Seymour Resident Saves Woman In Bronx Fire


Mike Gardella, a former Seymour resident and New York City firefighter, saved a woman from a fire in the Allerton section of the Bronx early Tuesday.

The fire was inside a garage that had been illegally converted into an apartment, according to WABC television in New York.

The fire took the life of a 71-year-old man.

Gardella grew up in Seymour, is a graduate of Seymour High School and has extensive family ties in the Valley.

He now lives in the Bronx.
