Quick Cleanup Of Legion Fireworks
ANSONIA
 — A lighted cigarette carelessly discarded by a young boy caused the destruction of the supply of fireworks at the corner of Church Street and caused both local Legionnaires and Boy Scouts to scamper to safety.

Gets Third Term
ANSONIA
 — James Kingston, one of the most popular members of the Webster Hose company, was elected to his third term as captain of the Derby hill fire unit.

Police To Act Against Lame-Brained Culprits
ANSONIA
 — In receipt of many complaints against boys and young men with a depraved sense of humor, who take part in the dangerous practice of throwing lighted fireworks at girls passing along the streets, or else hurling them into crowds at the carnival grounds, the local police are keeping a close watch on such characters and from now on arrests are to be made and the culprits to face the court.

Noisy Fourth Was Featured In City
DERBY
 — The local celebration of the Fourth was a noisy one throughout the city yesterday, and while there was plenty of noise Tuesday night just before the midnight hour it was small in comparison to that which broke out elsewhere.

Legion Fireworks Disappears
ANSONIA
 — Thirty-four dollars, part of the proceeds of the American Legion fireworks sale, was stolen from the automobile of Frederick M. Drew, Jr. while the machine was parked at the Armory.

Case Is Continued
SEYMOUR — The case against the proprietor of The Actors’ Colony on the Housatonic River is scheduled to be heard in local court. Authorities accused the business of having liquor and found evidence of gambling after a raid.

Scout Saves Boy In Bronson’s Pond
SEYMOUR — Daniel Patten, 8, was rescued from drowning by Boy Scout Anthony Contaldi of Beacon Falls.

 — Emil Senger Post 10 of The American Legion expressed appreciation for the liberal reception and support given by the public during recent movie screenings. The movies watched included Love,” starring Greta Garbo, and London After Midnight,” starring Lon Chaney.
