Storm Halts Grid Game
ANSONIA — Due to the inclement weather conditions yesterday the football game scheduled between the Acorns and the Collegians for the city championship could not be played, the tilt being called off shortly after the start of the sleet storm. It looks now as though football is over for the year and that the Collegians and their north end rivals will have to wait until next season to decide which is the better team.
City Experiences First Snow Storm
DERBY — Derby and vicinity experienced its first real snow storm of the season over the weekend commencing Saturday with a slight flurry of snow. The temperature dropped steadily until Sunday morning when a hail storm arrived, followed by sleet and snow. The storm kept up practically all day Sunday and Sunday night, turning to rain late in the night. The going was difficult and resulted in many keeping within doors.

Immanuel Fair
ANSONIA — Everything is in readiness for the annual fair of Immanuel Church which will be held tomorrow afternoon and evening in the parish house. The booths have been erected and decorated, a fine program and all plans for making the event the most successful yet held have been completed.
Little Interest is Being Shown
DERBY — The proposed alterations to the city hall auditorium, formerly Sterling theater, will doubtless be abandoned for another year. While there were indications for some months past that the building would be given attention during the winter, the many demands and requests for money that have been made and the apparent lack of interest being shown in the changes to the building are given as reasons for the probable abandonment. The changes being contemplated would provide a community hall in the section formerly occupied by the theater.
No School Team
SEYMOUR — Some displeasure has been voiced upon all sides because of the announcement from the Seymour high school that it will have no basketball team this winter, but may institute interclass for boys and girls instead. The zest of interscholastic sport will be lacking as the result of this decision, and it is the common belief that this takes away of the pleasures of undergraduate days.
