Sept. 10, 1924

Laborer Sustains Fractured Skull
ANSONIA — Frank Gomes, a Portuguese laborer in the mills of American Brass, sustained a fractured skull shortly before six o’clock last evening when he was struck in the head by an overhead crane. The man was knocked unconscious from the blow and was removed to his home where a doctor was called to administer treatment.

Boxer Has Cauliflower Ear
ANSONIA — Boxer Pinky Silvers of Ansonia developed the injury prevelent among boxers.

QUAKER FARMS — Bonnie Thurson had the misfortune to lose her horse recently. 

Rev. J. Studzinski Home From Europe
DERBY — On the occasion of his return from a tour through Poland, the Rev. Joseph Studzinski, Pastor of St. Michael’s Church was tended an impressive reception by thousands of his parishioners.

Slight Increase In Enrollment
DERBY — The opening of the school term has found a slight increase in the number of pupils enrolled in the public schools. The new Lincoln school, which has already been in service for a year, has eliminated a good deal of the overcrowding problem in the Irving, Hawthorne and Franklin schools.

Sept. 11, 1924

Judgment Suspended
DERBY — The case of Louis Rose and Sam Gordon of New Haven came up before Judge A.C. Baldwin in the city court this morning. They were arrested early yesterday morning by Officers William Reilly, William Burke and Thomas O’Connor after a complaint that they were prowling around the property owned by Jacob Schanncup of East Ninth Street. They were given a thorough talking to by the judge and will probably know better than to come here at 2:30 in the morning for quite some time.

No Change In Parking Affairs
SEYMOUR — No change has been made in the no parking order of the railroad company on Main Street near the depot, although it is said that some of the residents are in communication with the railroad company officials about it. 

Congressman At Great Hill School
SEYMOUR — The pupils in the Great Hill School had a visitor yesterday in a real live member of Congress, Congressman P.B. O’Sullivan of Derby.

Sept. 12, 1924

Judge L.T. Molloy Gets Renomination
ANSONIA — Leo T. Molloy was unanimously renominated for judge of probate at the democratic convention held last night in Ansonia. No other name was mentioned.

Bridge Wrecked By Stolen Car
DERBY — A stolen car is probably of the wrecking of the Housatonic Avenue bridge over the canal at the electric light station some time overnight.

Gets $50 Fine
DERBY — What might have resulted in a more serious accident happened last night at about 10 30 o’clock on New Haven Avenue at a point just this side of Maple Shade in front of the Grady property. A Ford sedan struck a truck heading toward New Haven.
