On Sunday (June 30) Shelton High School’s Class of 1981 is sponsoring a special event to raise funds for a memorial scholarship to honor Jesse Lewis, son of their classmate Neil Heslin.
Jesse was one of the 20 Sandy Hook Elementary School students who tragically lost their lives on December 14, 2012.
The event is scheduled for June 30, Jesse’s 7th birthday.
Who: Members of the Class of 1981 are working together to coordinate an event to honor Jesse Lewis.
What: Funds raised from the event will be used to establish the Jesse Lewis Memorial Scholarship to be awarded annually to a graduating senior at Shelton High School. The June 30 event will include food, live entertainment, and a host of prizes. Invitations to attend have been sent to Governor Dan Malloy and other dignitaries.

When: Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Why: Because of the loss of their classmate’s son, members of the Shelton High School Class of 1981 feel a special connection to the Newtown tragedy and would like to honor Jesse and create a lasting gift on his birthday.
