Valley relatives of an 8‑year-old boy living in Poland are trying to raise money to fly him to the U.S. for medical treatment.
Kacper Haranczyk has Moyamoya disease, which can lead to life-threatening strokes and seizures.
Kacper’s extended family and friends locally have organized a “Save Kacper Benefit Dinner” scheduled for Saturday, April 13 and the Inn at Villa Bianca in Seymour.
Tickets are $50, which includes soft drinks, dinner, dessert, along with coffee or tea. A cash bar will be available. The event will also feature a DJ, dancing and a raffle.
Proceeds will be used to help Kacper’s family pay for medical bills. The family hopes to get the boy treated at the Children’s Hospital in Boston.
The benefit will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A fund has also been set up at People’s United Bank. Anyone who wants to donate to the cause can simply write a check payable to the “Save Kacper Fund” to deposit at any People’s branch.
