Shelton firefighters put out a garage fire at 19 Bunker Hill Circle Wednesday evening.
The fire was reported about 5:50 p.m., according to Nick Verdicchio, the fire department’s spokesman.
Three fire companies responded, Verdicchio said. The first truck on scene put out the fire within five minutes, he said.
It was in an attached garage, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from reaching the home, Verdicchio said. There was some smoke damage inside the house.
There were no cars in the garage at the time of the fire.
Verdicchio said the fire appeared to have started due to electrical problems in the garage.
It was the second time this summer the fire department responded to a garage fire in the neighborhood.
