A 31-year-old sanitation worker from New Haven is recovering after being struck by a garbage truck Wednesday morning.
According to information from Shelton police, officers and EMS responded to the intersection of Mulberry and Bayberry lanes at about 8 a.m. after receiving a report that the worker had been run over by the truck.
According to police, David Douglas, 52, of West Haven, was backing up the truck when the rear tire struck sanitation worker John Glacia in the leg, knocking him to the ground.
Glacia was taken to Bridgeport Hospital. His injuries are not serious, police said.
No tickets were issued.
