Girl Scouts Collecting Coats For Domestic Violence Victims

The need has never been greater and it’s never been easier to make a difference in your community. Here is your opportunity to make sure that nobody goes without such a basic necessity as a coat this winter.

Oxford Girl Scouts are collecting clean, gently used coats and jackets as part of a community service project. Coats of all shapes and sizes are welcome; especially in need are coats for young children. We are also accepting hat, mittens, gloves and scarves.

This program is an easy way for you and your family to pass along coats and jackets that you no longer need.

The Oxford Girl Scouts have made donating a coat simple. Just bring your clean, gently used coats and jackets to Oxford Town Hall from 9am to 1pm on December 15, 2012. If you can’t make it to town hall, you can drop off you donation to any of the following locations from Dec. to Dec. 14:

  • Quaker Farms School
  • Oxford Center School
  • Ridge Club at the Oxford Greens
  • Oxford Senior Center
  • Allstate Insurance — 1510 Southford Rd Southbury, CT
  • Danz Magic — 198 Seymour Avenue Derby, CT 06418

Then the Girl Scouts will take care of the rest. All donated coats will be given to My Sister’s Place – serving women and children of domestic violence.
