GoFundMe Set Up To Help Seymour Man Struck By Vehicle

SEYMOUR — A GoFundMe has been set up to help a Seymour man struck by a vehicle on Route 8 Sunday morning.

Click here to read the fundraiser for the pedestrian, identified by police as Kevin Atterberry, 40. Police said Atterberry sustained life-threatening injuries. The GoFundMe states that Atterberry is in critical condition but making good progress.

Police released an accident information summary Monday (March 10) saying Atterberry was struck by a Ford Ecosport, a small SUV, at 5:25 a.m. on Route 8 south in Shelton near exit 9. The driver remained on scene.

The incident is under investigation. State police are asking anyone with information or may have seen the incident to call Trooper Patrick Miko, at Troop I, at 203 – 393-4200 or through email at Patrick.Miko@ct.gov.

Atterberry is a member of the Seymour Democratic Town Committee and he’s involved in All in for Seymour,” a group of volunteers looking to improve the quality of life. He’s an appointed member of the Seymour Charter Revision Commission.

He is an awesome guy that has given so much to Seymour and the Valley,” said Selectwoman Theresa Conroy. He has done so much in his short time here that it’s now our time to give back and help him.”

As of 7 p.m. March 10 $4,500 had been raised toward the $8,000 goal.
